Help build a new kind of heritage organization

The Rejoinery is not yet a registered not-for-profit. We are currently seeking Board Members. Once we have our 5 founding Board Members, and have finalized our draft bylaws, we will register The Rejoinery as a not-for-profit corporation and apply for charitable status.

The Charitable Purposes of the Rejoinery

  1. To advance education by providing public instruction, workshops, exhibitions, and interpretive programming on architectural heritage, domestic design history, and the restoration and preservation of historic materials.
  2. To promote the preservation and conservation of Canada’s architectural and domestic material heritage by salvaging, conserving, documenting, and restoring architectural elements and historically significant domestic objects that would otherwise be discarded or destroyed.
  3. To advance public appreciation of heritage and design history by curating public exhibitions, interpretive installations, publications, and digital resources related to architectural and domestic cultural heritage.
  4. To make salvaged architectural materials and restored household fixtures available at low or sliding-scale cost to individuals, community groups, and affordable housing initiatives, making materials accessible.
  5. To provide training and skill-building opportunities for volunteers, students, and emerging craftspeople in heritage restoration practices and conservation methods.

Equally an exhibition designer, scholar, and museum and heritage practitioner, Trina  works with clients to elicit approaches, techniques, and pedagogies for enhancing  experiences of history in the present. She lives to augment the storytelling  power of objects through curatorship and design. As a curatorial instructor, Trina empowers  

Equally an exhibition designer, scholar, and museum and heritage practitioner, Trina  works with clients to elicit approaches, techniques, and pedagogies for enhancing  experiences of history in the present. She lives to augment the storytelling  power of objects through curatorship and design. As a curatorial instructor, Trina empowers  emerging curators and interpreters to engage in design-thinking and, conversely, challenges design teams to take on curatorial and visitor perspectives.

A scholar, geographer, researcher, and instructor, Stephanie works with communities through collaborative mapping practices to create digital cartographies of shared memory and cultural heritage, contributing to intercultural dialogue and reconciliation. Stephanie is also an social-justice oriented activist who is passionate about our collective right to our material history and heritage.

We're Hiring (sort of)

Volunteer!

We are operating without funding at the moment, but will staff up once funded. We are currently looking for volunteers to take on responsibilities related to salvage and conservation, historical research and interpretation, exhibition design and development, liaison and rehome coordination, and social media marketing.
